That might mean keeping the car in the bay longer or advising the customer to avoid rough roads and door slams until the next morning.

If rain is blowing sideways and your only option is a curbside install, call the shop and reschedule. Reputable shops prefer to do it right once rather than fix a leak later.

For chips, a temporary resin repair under a canopy can be safe if the technician truly removes moisture from the damage before injecting resin. If they cannot guarantee that, tape the chip and wait. It is better to fix a clean, dry break than to seal moisture inside your windshield forever.

The bigger picture: moisture management as a habit

Glass work and rain make a challenging pair, but the mindset you bring to moisture will help your car long after the urethane cures. Inspect door seals at oil change intervals. Keep cowl drains clear of leaves, especially if you park under trees. Replace brittle clips rather than forcing them back into service. If you own a vehicle known for specific leak points, learn them and address them proactively. Small habits prevent the cascading issues that begin with a damp corner and end with a moldy cabin and corroded connectors.
